Celtic Hit With Triple Whammy!

Posted by: Fanzone | Comments (20)

Three Body Blows To The Bhoys…

Celtic are today reeling from three potentially damaging body blows, and non of them were their own doing!

  • Blow1. UEFA have decided, not surprisingly, to charge the club after ‘fans’ set off flares and displayed and offensive banner at the Europa League game against Udinese in Italy last Thursday.
  • Blow 2. Daniel Majstorovic looks likely to be out for five to six weeks after he fractured hi s cheekbone and eye socket during the Hoops 2-0 victory over St Johnstone at Perth yesterday.
  • Blow 3. The SFA have appointed Willie ‘eyes in the back of ma heid’ Collum as referee for the derby match at Celtic Park on December 28th.

Of the three blows the third is without doubt the most dangerous.

UEFA won’t deal with the charge against the club until January 26th, so that can wait. As for Dan, his form has been good lately, but with Thomas Rogne and Kelvin Wilson both back fit, we should have ample cover there.

But the third blow, the appointment of Collum brings the most danger.

He is without doubt the worst referee in the Scottish League. He has a consistency of incompetency that knows no bounds. To give him the derby match is another slap in the face from the SFA.

And that’s NOT paranoia, just fact!

Once Again We’re Wrongly Accused!

Had a conversation with a good friend of mine this morning about the recent ‘illicit chanting’ charge brought about by UEFA.

As we all know the governing body have fined Celtic approx £12,700 after the Match Commander reported the club for the offence at Celtic Park in the Europa League game against French side Rennes.

The Celtic board have decided against appealing the fine and are prepared to use the verdict to make the fans who continue to sing these political songs sit up and take notice.

Ironically, since we were reported the fans have cut most of the so-called offensive songs out of the match day repertoire.

However, that hasn’t stopped the media from accusing Celtic fans of ‘sectarian singing.’

On Radio Clyde’s news programme at 8 am this morning, the news reader stated  quite clearly that ‘Celtic were fined for sectarian chanting’.

This is a lie.

There is only ONE club in Scotland that have been found guilty of sectarian singing, and that club reside in Govan, not Parkhead.

This is another prime example of trying to tar Celtic with the same brush as the Govan mob by a media hell bent on dragging the club through the mire.

At this rate we’ll be calling for the News of the World to return…

Their Cunning Plan Is Working…..

Masters At Shifting The Blame ARE Succeeding!

If you keep telling something to someone long enough, eventually they will believe what you’re saying.

In other words, if Celtic are mentioned in the same sentence as R******s over and over again, then people will believe we are two sides of the same coin, hence that terrible term ‘Old Firm’.

So really it was only a matter of time before the SFA, SPL or UEFA came to the rescue of the ‘accusers’ by fining Celtic for ‘illicit singing’, whatever that is.

We should have known better.

Whenever the focus has been on the Dark Side, be it for their 132 years of sectarian employment policy, or their constant bigoted song sheet, they always try to bring Celtic into the equation.

It’s in their make-up. It’s just what they do.

Even last week when his player was found guilty of cheating, the Sneaky one tried to get Celtic involved by referring to instances involving us.

There was not a hope in hell that he would admit his player dived.

Just like his appearance at the SFA offices in March when he got off ‘Scott free’ after his part in the so-called shame game, grinning from ear to ear after shoving all the blame onto Neil Lennon.

Their kind NEVER accept responsibility.

And now they’ve managed to get a Match Commander to do their dirty work by hood winking UEFA into believing we are the same as them. Illicit singing? I ask you…

UEFA obviously see it as more important than sectarianism, racism or corruption. But that’s enough about them…..

Where’s The Final?

Posted by: Fanzone | Comments (17)

Might As Well Dream….

According to official sources, the Celtic website and UEFA website, Celtic  can now plan their assault of the Europa League starting this Thursday in Madrid.

The decision of UEFA to throw out FC Sion’s appeal was upheld by the governing body today giving Celtic the green light to make the appropriate arrangements for the upcoming matches against Atletico Madrid, Rennes and Udinese.

However, when you read the statement on the UEFA website, FC Sion have the right to ANOTHER appeal within ten days of receiving todays confirmation in writing.

Want to bet they’ll appeal again?

Anyway, back to us, Where is the final played this year?

Should We Really Look To UEFA For Help?

FC Sion Ban No Certainty

Even though UEFA President Michel Platini has said the FC Sion have broken FIFA and UEFA rules by signing and playing players they shouldn’t have, history tells us that doesn’t mean FC Sion will be banned from the Europa League.

For those of us old enough to remember, this is the same organisation that allowed Atletico Madrid in 1973 to kick ten shades of shite out of wee Jimmy and the Bhoys, resulting in three Madrid thugs and their manager being sent off, without recourse.

The same organisation that ordered a replay after Celtic dumped Rapid Vienna out of the Cup Winners Cup in 1984 after an Austrian was ‘mysteriously’ hit by a bottle that landed ten feet away from him. And to make matters worse we had to play the replay in Manchester!

Those are just two examples of an organisation that can never really be trusted to do the right thing, certainly when Celtic are involved.
