Skippy Still Moaning..

And he doesn’t even play for us anymore!

Not content at getting a fresh start after played for his boyhood heroes, Scott McDonald has to keep nagging on about Mogga.

Why?

It didn’t get him far while he was at Celtic Park, so why does he keep bashing his gums about Tony Mowbray.

You would think he’d be more interested in kick-starting his Middlesbro career!

Maybe it’s because he’s a McDonald thing……

You see, there is ‘another’ McDonald that seems hell bent in putting the boot into the Hoops…….Dougie.

Remember him, the same Dougie that sent-off Aiden at Easter Road, Broonie at the Hunnery, let Madjik Boogera kick ten shades of shite out of Robbie Keane, and managed to ‘award’ the MM TWO soft penalties against Dundee United.

The two of them should get together and go on the circuit, in fact, maybe they could get Tam Cowan to join them, after all those three seem to be cut from the same cloth!

PS. Notice the stories coming out of Celtic Park have stopped…..now there’s a coincidence!

Players Suffer From Professional Incompetence

Imagine if you were a joiner and you couldn’t hang a door?

Do you think you’d be in a job for long? Probably not.

So how is it some footballers who are at the top of their profession think they can get away with not learning the basics?

Control, touch, move. The basics that all football players regardless of age should learn.

Yet we have in Scotland players earning between £5-25,000 a week who can’t do the basics. And we all know who they are.

It’s criminal that professionals are being offered ludicrous sums of money and failing to produce even an acceptable standard of football.

I watched the Engurland and Belarus match on Wednesday night and let me tell you the Belarus team’s first touch and movement was excellent.

Fair enough, tactically they were rotten but they could play.

The English, managed by an Italian, had more guile about them. That’s how they won.

However, the visitors have something to build on. They know the basics.

Unfortunately, not too many teams in this neck of the woods can say the same.

New Signing Injury Highlights Weakness

Just as Marc-Antoine Fortune was beginning to get to grips with Scottish football, he manages to pick up an injury that will have him sidelined for the next couple of months.

With £3.8m of Tony’s overall transfer budget invested in the big man, it’s a huge loss for the manager.

It also highlights our lack of depth in the striking department.

First choice striker Scott McDonald will now be partnered by the big Greek enigma, that is Georgios Samaras.

Now don’t get me wrong, I like big Sammy. He’s honest and like the start of last season can be unplayable at times, but he’s also frustrating with a first touch that couldn’t trap a bag of cement.

And if……

Sammy gets a knock we’re down to Kiwi Chris Killen to take the lead upfront.

Killen did have a good pre-season and Tony knows him better than most, but can you count on him to score the winner in a tight SPL game?

Naw.

So that then leaves us with pairing Skippy and Shaun Maloney? Even this early in the season the decision to loan out Cillian Sheridan might come back to haunt us. Like it did last season.

Motormouth At It Again!

There was a time last season, just about when Aiden and Wee Ghord were having their bust-up, that every ounce of movement in the Celtic camp was reported in the media.

It didn’t matter to them if the story was true, so long as they had an inside track to some sort of scandal or disagreement.

Anyhow, eventually WGS got the group together to put a lid on it, and the rest of the season the squad put on a unified stance.

What did emerge from ‘molegate’ is this.

Time To Shut-Up Skippy!

Our wee Aussie mate Skippy hasn’t forgotten his Murderwell roots and has a knack of actively seeking publicity.

That’s OK when you play for a provincial club but when you move to Celtic, it’s time to shut-up.

So, it’s no surprise that I read today Skippy has been bleating away to the press once again on club and team matters.

This time he’s giving us a first hand account of a conversation he had with Naka. Considering Shunsuke has made little effort in his time here to learn English, that would have been quite an interesting chat!

The upshot of it all is Naka wants to return home. After being away from Japan for so long he’s homesick.

Who wouldn’t be?

As for Skippy, well the first thing Mogga or PTP should do is sit the Bhoy down and tell him to keep his mouth shut, or find another club.

First Two Minutes Set Tone

With only two minutes on the clock referee Craig Thomson booked Paul Hartley after winning the ball in a tackle with Judas Miller.

That set the tone for the rest of the match.

As the Bhoys gradually got a hold of the game the Huns scored against the run of play, with Davis out running Maloney at the far post. Questions will be asked if Aiden would have been so easily beaten?

All the same?

But the turning point for me was before the goal was even scored. Skippy is about to pull the trigger in the box when he’s grappled to the ground by Whittaker. A stonewall penalty.

Did we get it? Did we Feck!

Even that diddy Scott Booth admitted there was contact, so that just shows you it MUST have been.

We should have known then that it wasn’t going to be our day.

Then with minutes to half-time big Jan has a header cleared off the line.

The second half was all one-way traffic but we couldn’t break down a Hun defence that has been used to defending in numbers.

At one point the Setanta stats showed Celtic had 71% of the possession, and that’s at the Hunnery!

Still, no matter what the score….

I’m proud to be a Tim!

The Countdown To Legendary Fame Begins….

The Bhoys are now only Four Games away from achieving “Celtic Fame” by winning “Four In A Row” and joining a very small band band of “Hoops Legends” who have done the same.

The start of our “For Games to Fame” is next Saturday at Castle Greyskull where we will face “The Re-Arrangers” alongside all the SPL & SFA authorities as they try everything in their power to stop us achieving this and at the same time give “The Rankers” the financial shot in the arm they need. I wonder who they will “pull out of the hat” to be the mason in the black for this match ? … Maybe they will even roll out “The Sinister Minister” for his last match at Ipox before he retires ?

Following the first round of “after split” games where they sent us up to Sheepland and appointed Dougie McDonald as their trump card in the match to try and derail us but at the same time allowed “The Re-Arrangers” a third home match against the JamFarts with Ian Brines in charge under instructions to make sure nothing untoward happened, hence the refusal of a “stonewall” penalty, we still hold a “One Point” lead at the top of the table. So we must now spend a week working hard on making sure all The Bhoys are fully concentrated on the task ahead and that we also start the game at Castle Greysull in the same tempo we started the second half in sheepland.

Just another thought on the complicity within the SFA & SPL to help The Re-Arrangers win the title and stop us doing “Four In A Row”….Why couldn’t the game have been played this weekend ?…The authorities came out and stated that Strathclyde Police, the third largest force in the UK, said they couldn’t handle the game on a Bank Holiday weekend !!!!…yet the last game at Castle Greyskull went ahead on the 27th of December right in the middle of the Christmas Holiday ????. It really does make you wonder just who made this decision especially as it allows The Rankers to play Madman Bougherra while the new SPFA Player of the Year Scott Brown remains suspended… Now I do know Broonie would have missed the game had it been played this weekend but so would have Bougherra…..

Call me “Paranoid” if you like…but as I have stated many times in the past…I am “Proud To Be A Paranoid Bhoy”…

Hail Hail … FRP … 4th May 2009

Yes, wee Scott McDonald’s two goals in the second half catapulted the Bhoys to a 3-1 win that puts us four points clear and five goals better off than Der Hun.

The wee man’s all round contribution today was immense. He covered every blade of grass, was busy throughout and lead the line superbly.

He will no doubt enjoy his champers after this man of the match display.

You couldn’t have scripted it better!

Celtic winning 2-1 down in Kilmarnock, after throwing away the lead in a first half that was so one sided the Killie players thought they were surrounded. (When the Ayrshire Huns equalised, the Setanta stats showed we had 10 attempts on goal to their one.)

Two Goal Hero

Then just as the Bhoys are seeing the game out, an almighty roar comes from the Faithful in the Killie stands.

Could Inverness have stolen a point at Legoland….? Doubt it. Well could they? Still doubt it. Could they take all three points…?

Naw. That would be asking too much…wouldn’t it!

So what was the noise. A penalty. For Rangers of course, naebody gets a penalty at Poundland.

Or do they?

Referee Calum Murray committed the original sin by awarding a penalty to Inverness Caley Thistle in the 92nd minute. Apparently, that old geezer Davie ‘Molly’ Weir pulled down some ICT player after making a hash of clearing a header.

He quite rightly received his marching orders (couple months early for the marching season Molly!) and Ian Black duly sent The Groin the wrong way to give Caley a famous victory!

A victory that helped send Celtic three points clear at the top of the SPL.

Is Wattie still up for a knighthood?

Just a wee reminder of our goals…..click here.
